Do I have to have experience?No, we take dancers of all ages from 18 months to adults and of all abilities.

Can my child do a trial?Yes we invite anyone new to the school to participate in a free session to get an idea of how the classes run and see if it is for them. To book your free trial please get in touch via the Contact us page on our website.

Can I watch my child?Other than our Baby and Me Class, we ask all parents and guardians to remain outside of the studio throughout the classes. We have designated waiting areas or are happy for you to drop off and collect your child at the end of the class as long as contact details have been given.

What should my child wear?For your child's free session they just need to dress safely and appropriately for sporting activity i.e. shorts and t-shirt and trainers. Once enrolled into the class our O’Hehir class uniform is available for purchase along with information regarding dancing shoes and socks. Please do not buy shoes via the internet before speaking to a teacher as they will offer you the correct advice.

Does my child need anything else?We advise all children to bring a bottle of water and a bag to put dancing shoes in. Also ensure children's names are written inside of any shoes and clothing brought to the class.

How do I sign my child up?Following your free taster session, if you would like to sign your child up to the O’Hehir School of Irish dance you can register as a member on the School website then complete the registration form in the members section.

How do I pay for my child classes?Once registered you will receive an emailed Direct Debit mandate. Every 5 weeks payment will be debited from your nominated Credit/ Debit card.

What if we can’t make a class?We can offer a make up session to anyone who provides a medical certificate. Each child is entitled to a 2 week holiday exemption, teacher to be notified in advance.

What is the cancellation process?We hope that once your child joins our school they will enjoy being a part of our O’Hehir dance family. However if you wish to cancel please notify the teacher before the start of the next 5 week term.

Does my child have to compete?No. At the O’Hehir school our main priority is to share our passion for Irish dance and culture. There is no expectation for children to take part in competitions however we will work closely with any family who wish to explore this opportunity to ensure they have the best experience possible, We love taking part in competitions and the experiences it gives to our dancers.
